Ed Elstun, a former President and Treasurer for the Association and an outstanding resource to colleagues, died January 28.

He was 90 years old.

Elstun began his career at the Snow Co. in Omaha, Neb., in 1953. When he retired in 1987, he was the company’s President and CEO.

He served as Association President in 1981-82 and as Treasurer from 1984-87.

Elstun’s service to the Association and its members extended beyond his time in leadership positions.

As news of his death spread, members called to tell us how he took time to review business plans with them and advise them. Staff members shared stories about Elstun’s willingness to help orient them to new roles.

This Association’s strength is properly credited to Elstun and other leaders who over many decades built the strong foundation we stand on today.

Elstun also proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. His life-long love for naval aviation was fostered during the war. S
